Mr. Yasin Birinci, SVP, Production Planning and Control, Turkish Airlines Technic INC.

Yasin is a graduate of Industrial Engineering Department at Bosphorus University and holds an MBA- Degree from Bilgi University, both in Istanbul.
His career started in the Bus Production Facility of Mercedes-Benz-Turkey in Istanbul, a subsidiary of Daimler AG and continued with a project management position in Germany. He served in different planning positions at the Headquarter of Daimler-Buses. Lastly, he was the Team Manager responsible for Production-Network Planning of Daimler-Buses Europe.
After having joined Turkish Technic Team as Head of Production Planning and Control Department, he was key in major projects like merger of Turkish Technic and Turkish Habom. Currently, he leads the capacity expansion projects of Turkish Technic in Istanbul Grand Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport. His responsibility area covers the planning of the hangar capacities in 5 Airports, 3 Cities and 2 Continents.
Besides operational obligations, he manages the project of implementing a ‘Smart-Predictive
Maintenance System’ for the valuable customers of Turkish Technic.

The ultimate target of all aircraft maintenance acitivities is to enhance the time that the aircraft spends in the air.

To assure this goal, we follow two principles. One of them is maintaining the aircraft as less often as possible (without damaging the airworthiness) through interval escalation and maintenance program optimization. The other is to shorten the maintenance ground time through the continuous improvement of standard man-hour, faster detection of the deviations and applying the proper measures.

Our total approach to maintenance optimization is to start by optimizing task card intervals and maintenance program and making hangar, workforce, tool, material ready before maintenance start. Once the aircraft is in the hangar, the maintenance process continues carefully with real time monitoring of the maintenance activities.
